Hope this is the right board to post this.
I have applied for a job in the care sector when I recieved my crb enhanced certificate it is showing my police records etc as none recorded,
But my question is in 1990 I went to court for a conviction of using a credit card that wasnt mine I cant even remember if it was a fine or community service.
Does anyone know why this is now not showing up on my CRB even though I have had several crb done since then and when my employer recieves there copy will it show something different to mine.
Thanks

it'll more than likely be a spent conviction as it's over 20 years ago. The employer will get the same copy that you got.0

Hi I thought that convictions no matter how old they are show up on your crb, Maybe I was wrong !! I know it is naughty but I didnt want to tell my employer unless I had to as I am not the person I was then and it is my only conviction.
I have worked in other care jobs since then and never had any problems ??
Thanks0 -
This is an eCRB. It's an error. They happen. More often than they should. But this conviction should be on there. It cannot be spent on an an eCRB0

What do you mean its a error so have I just got lucky then ?? Under all the searches on the CRB they all show as "none recorded"
Thanks0 -
It depends on what you call lucky. You have been convicted of a criminal offence which you were told you needed to declare and you obviously didn't. That is a lie for which you can be dismissed. the eCRB return is in error - it says you have no convictions and this is not true. Unfortunately eCRB checks are not 100% reliable. So your lie hasn't been "outed" by the check - yet. Unfortunately, records in error can be fixed, and you will never know whether yours has been or not until such time as another check comes back with information which varies from what you have admitted to. At which point you are screwed - not because of the conviction but because of the lie. And of course if, by some slim chance, the employer ever finds out you lied about this, the fact that the ECRB came back clear won't save you. So you pays your money and you takes your chances... A conviction two decades ago would be highly unlikely to count against you now - but a lie now probably will. Personally, given your choices, I wouldn't call it lucky. It's a sword hanging over you every time you fail to tell the truth...0

Thank you for your advice SarEl, Im just going to take my chances then I would like to think that since then having 6 crbs done and 20 plus years gone that I should be okay.
Thanks again0 -
if you've had 6 CRB's done and it hasn't shown up, it sound more like you weren't actually charged for anything.0

if you've had 5 crbs already and this is the 6th, why are you worrying about it not showing up now?Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

If the OP went to court he certainly was! And even a caution should show on an eCRB. But the OP knows the risk now - if s/he continues to lie about it and gets caught out by the record being fixed, then there is nobody else to blame.0
