Can a Halifax customer use BOS branches?

My sister lives in Glasgow, and in the New Year I plan to stay with her for a few weeks.
Since I'm a Halifax customer (i have their Reward Current Account, opened online), can I walk into a Bank of Scotland branch if I want to pay in cash or take cash out (more than would be allowed at an ATM, say £800).
If the answer is no, I plan to just deal with this stuff before I go, but I'd rather not be taking over £800 on the train up there in cash if i'm being honest!! I know the nearest bank to where she lives (and where I'll be staying) is a Bank of Scotland, and she mentioned I could use it.. but i'd like to get this confirmed (I forgot to call today and I assume the Halifax lines are closed at this time).

Cannot see any reason why not.May be a problem taking £800 out at one visit as some banks do limit larger withdrawals but not a huge amount so do not see any problem.I was in Oxford recently and went into a Halifax branch and able to check accounts etc Brian0

I see - i take it you are the other way around then (a Bank of Scotland customer using the Halifax branch). I just wondered in case the cashiers refuse just because my account is with another part of the group.
i may be able to pop back the next day and do it as a £400 withdrawl on two seperate days, if they question the amount - it's literally about a 1 minute walk from where my sister lives so very convenient.0 -
Thats right Bank of scotland customer same group do not see any major problems for you.Enjoy your holiday0

No problem at all. Our branch is now BOS but most of our accounts are Halifax, only thing you cannot do in a BOS branch is open a new Halifax account0

And since bos is a proper bank you could withdraw a good few thousand without noticeHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
