Southamton Cheap place to stay

I am going to be working in Southampton and need a reasonable clean hotel/B&B in the area for a couple of nights each week.

I was looking at the travelodge in terms of price but after seeing reviews don't think I fancy that!

Does anyone know of a nice, clean place to stay. I'm not really keen on those small B&B's in people houses I like something a bit more anonymous if you know what I mean!

I really appreciate any help out there!!

Not stayed there myself, but I know people who regularly go down there and they always stay at the Ibis....

We have stayed pre cruise at Winston hotel which seemed to be a cheap contractor place at the back of a pub. so anon enough and on late rooms

Try the eTap - its right in the centre near the docks near most of the other big hotels

quick search says 37 quid for next tuesday - it looks basic though.

The Grapes on Oxford Street is a pub in a nice area which offers rooms relatively cheaply. Not sure of exact prices but google & check.

My parents stayed at Premier Inn in Southampton and there room was basic but pleasant. Parking is very limited though.
