Hi
Just seen this MX Office Pro 2011 advertised on Ebay. Yes definately MX and not MS for Microsoft.
It claims to be compatible or replace all the Microsoft products and is £9.
link here to read, copy and paste in your www. sorry new user so can't put a link in but it is on Ebay under the Microsoft office section and is entitled CD Pack - Microsoft Office 2010 Word + Excel Compatible. It is a green square ad, which appears under an ad for OpenOffice.
Has anyone heard or come across this - any news welcome.

I just searched Ebay for "CD Pack - Microsoft Office 2010 Word + Excel Compatible" and they are all selling CDs of Open Office which is free to download from OpenOffice website (and many others).604!0

Saw it. Although the images of the individual programs are a little blurry it looks like they're all free programs that have been cleverly bundled and packaged to rip people off. They're not Microsoft products. Having said that there's nothing wwrong with the freeware alternates - I use LibreOffice as an office productivity suite and it's excellent. You should not however be a paying a penny for them.

Someone has used the MSOffice pack image and PhotoShopped (or GIMPed) it to produce a packaging to suck in the unwary.

"MX" - http://www.mxofficepro.com/images/box-n-disc-large.jpgI'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
Just like to clarify for the original poster - I was also curious about this until I took a closer look at the auction. I thought it seemed fishy but here is some text taken from the auction page itself:
"It is not a Microsoft product - but it does everything that Microsoft Office does!"
and also:
"The MX Office Suite core product is Open Office and comes with multiple other software pieces which all combine to comprise the MX Office Pro Suite. You get the full Microsoft Office functional ability, but you get it here at a huge saving compared to the actual Microsoft Office Professional product, which costs hundreds of pounds."
So it's not Microsoft Office, but neither does it claim to be.
Hope that helps :-)0 -

But they are also claiming that they have the sole licence to package it this way. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Is this thread by a newly registered poster, associated with the eBay ad in any way I wonder? :think:There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.
