Got my two kids passports back today ( teacher kindly signed .... NO CHARGE ) ..... however in the booklet they sent no mention of renewing free after 5 years prehaps sexy_fufu would be kind enough to let us know where she obtained her info0

You do have to pay to renew kids passport after 5 years, I mystery shopped the passport office when I got my kids passports renewed, and had to pay. This was last september so unless its changed since thenAlways on the hunt for a bargain0

You can only get a free extension to 10 years from the original date of issue if you hold a 5 year child passport issued on or before 26th March 1998 and details have not changed (e.g. name). In otherwords, everyone will now have to pay for a new 5 YEAR child passport, which is a complete rip off anyway.0
