Tempur Memory Foam Alternatives

I want to get a memory foam mattress but cannot afford Tempur prices. I've also seen sellers on ebay selling similar types of mattresses at a fraction of Tempur prices.

Can anyone with expertise in this area advise recommendations.

Thanks

http://www.memoryfoamwarehouse.co.uk/ has many good reviews on various review sites

  • How do these actually compare against Tempur mattresses?
  • We went on a cruise that had these type of mattresses on the beds and as soon as we got home we looked into getting one, eventually settled for one off ebay and it's great:money:
  • bought ours from ideal world. Had no prior knowledge of any others but certainly ticks all our boxes. The added benefit is that they come with a money back guarantee and depending on when you buy can pay it over 3 months. Would certainly recommend and buy another.

I have a sprung mattress with a two inch top layer of memory foam. I was advised to get this rather than the full memory foam mattresses like Tempur, because of the air circulation. It is the best thing I ever bought and I can definitely recommend this type of mattress.

    Hi zzzLazyDaisy.

Would you mind telling me the brand of your mattress?

    Thanks.

Hi, its a Myers. I have had it four years and it is as good as the day I bought it.

I got it from an independent bed store, not a chain. I went out looking for a mattress for my existing double bed - but I ended up buying a kingsized drawer divan and mattress, because they had a sale on the beds, so it was cheaper than the mattress on its own!

Firstly why do you want a memory foam mattress? I often ask this question to my customers because most of the time really they don't know. They have heard about it and thought it would be for them. But without trying it first it's a mindfield, especially the all foam matttresses, as they "feel" very very different from a normal mattress. Get yourself in the shops and try them out first.

Memoryfoamwarehouse use very low grade memory foam 40kgm3, a decent memory foam will be at least 60kgm3 or even heavier!

You get what you pay for I guess :)

I agree though, it is important to try memory foam. When I and the boss (aka gf) went shopping for a new bed and mattress we ended up buying an ikea set, the mattress is sprung with a foam bit on top... its very comfortable and comes with a decent guarantee.

I believe Ikea mattresses only fit Ikea beds though?

Family had advised us to try memory foam first and we found it a bit strange...
