Our wee dog has passed away

 Just thought I would share as I'm feeling quite low, but we had to have our wee cairn terrier put to sleep today. His liver was breaking down and he was passing blood. It came on quite sudden, we took him to the vets on tuesday and we tried antibiotics to bring the inflamation of the liver down. He kept being sick and I think in the end he had given up the fight, the vet said today that any treatment would be very problematic due to his diabetes and the fact that he never quite stabilised on his insullin. I know we made the right decision but it doesn't make me feel any better. Anyway thanks for reading I'll sign off now.

Please know that you did the best thing for him - it is the final act of love we can do for them ..... and don't feel guilty or start to question whether it was right in the coming days and weeks.

So very well put by Rising; it is true, you released your wee dog from pain. It's horrible to lose a loved companion so suddenly. Please try to think of the many many good times even though your heart is of course breaking.0 -
