Having problems with The Post Office and my Bank

i basically tried buying holiday money from the Post Office website, i completed all the pages, got to the verified by visa page and then it said ERROR YOU HAVE NOT BEEN CHARGED.

fine i thought until i checked my online banking and the money was pending.

so i contacted the PO and they said to contact the bank and i've been going back and forth between the two.
The PO claim they have sent a fax twice to the Bank.
The Bank claim they haven't received them.
They might both be telling the truth but this does not return my much needed holiday money.
it is currently sitting in the sky somewhere

Is this acceptable?
What can i do?
Im going on holiday tomorrow with no holiday money should be fun!!

Are they faxing to a call centre or to your local branch?

Will the bank accept it being emailed to you, you printing it out and taking it to your branch or will they only accept it if it comes directly to the bank?

Are the post office able to give you your money from a local PO and continue the payment?

They are faxing the call centre as branches can't deal with this apparently. The PO can't continue with the transaction as they claim they never requested the money as there was an error. All i want is my money back so tha i can spend it on holiday money but they are both not assisting me at all. I will never use the Post Office again and i'm considering changing banks as this is beyond a joke as when the money does fall back into my account i will of been on holiday for 4 days already.
