Right our multicar policy is due for renewal on 18/12 and on 1/12 got renewal docs through and thought they must be joking at the price they want - unfortunately that night hubby returned home from work to inform me he had an articulated lorry catch his car whilst he was stationary in a gridlock of traffic but the lane to his right started to go where the lorry was who started turning right which made the back of it swing slightly left and catch all theway down the side of hubbys 09 a5 coupe which was immaculate beforehand. :( anyway to now try and get a quote individually is near impossible as a) my car isnt recognised on most sites??!! Its an L200 animal ( we have 2 huge Alaskan Malamute dogs that we do sledge racing with !) - b) because I have to declare my windscreen claim after guyfawkes night to which I have no idea of cost as have fully comp insurance and personally have 13 yrs no claims apart from that c) most companies won't allow me to put his claim as ongoing ?? They want cost etc which at the mo have no idea of! We are both insured on each others cars so need to declare even though mine is only a windscreen!
They want over £1100 joint .....eeeek!!!! But if I put his car in with no claims its £286 but his claim shouldnt be put as his fault.
My car is worth 3 times less than his Audi - I have 13yrs no claims yet my price is dearer than his on the multicar quote (before the accident) - how on earth does that work?
An 06 L200 Animal compared to a very sleek 09 Audi A5 coupe ???!!!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  • Your insurers would be able to tell you the cost of the glass claim, will probably be a couple of hundred.

Not sure which insurers you are going to that wont allow you to register the claim as open/ ongoing? If you go via the aggregators (eg confused) you will be able to do so. You will also need to check the impact on the NCD as this may be reduced, if it isnt protected, until the claim has been settled by the third party.
