Theres some great petitions on this site:money:
Life Is What You Make It:kisses3:0 -
Turkeys voting for christmas eh?
The tax has to come from somewhere,
from your pockets, lets have a higher ceiling but a higher rate, same money in, less people affected. Usual populist nonsense from the ExpressCymru Am Byth0 -

Sign this petition if you are greedy idiot.
Nice!!! Do you not realise that it is affecting alot of working class aswell. My Grandmother was not upper or middle class yet when she passed away a couple of years ago she owned a 4 bedroom house which she and my grandfather had worked hard for all their lives. This alone (because of the area she lived) almost took the estate to the inheritance limit at the time which was i believe £265,000. She also (due to moneysaving) had shares in utilities and the like and her estate ended up being well over the limit.
So meant that 40% of all moneys over the threshhold had to be given in tax this was then shared between 4 people.
One of the main problems with the inheritance tax guidelines is that a percentage (i think 10/20%) has to be paid straight away before any money has been sorted out ie the people who inherit have to pay this amount before they recieve any of the inheritance in the first place. Obviously this causes a problem for us 'ordinary' people who do not have this sort of money lying around....
My belief is that the inheritance tax really just needs to be raised to a more 'realistic' amount and i think that the idea behind the petition is that you ask for it to be abolished because you know they wont accept that but You are basically asking for more in the hope that you get what you want ie higher limits?
I hope this makes sense as i feel i have waffled a bit?!
p.s to those who have been extremely negative....Why? Everyone is obviously entitled to their own opinion and it would be a dull place if we all felt the same but there are better ways of saying things. I was always told that if you cant say something nice/nicely then dont say it at all.....**Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened!**
