One of the three houses we are considering buying is an extended 3 bed detached which initially went up for sale at £210,000. It has recently been reduced to £199,999 but we want to offer 180K as it needs complete decor overhaul, including new bathroom and kitchen. Does this seem a fair offer?

Thats 10% less - I would think that acceptable in todays market:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
You can offer whatever you want.
The worst that can happen is they say no, in which case you can go in with a higher offer, OR go in with a lower offer than 10%, and then if they say no, go up to your 10% under - If it has been for sale for a while sit tight and wait.0 -
Thanks for the advice - it has been up for sale for ages and is now up with 2 EAs. I think they tried to sell it last year too but with no luck at their asking price.0

In which case I certainly go with a very cheeky offer. It always ending up more to renovate than you first thought.0
