Slow filling cistern

Hi
I'm looking for advice on a slow filling, push button cistern. I believe i've traced the fault to a split in the Siamp diaphragm. I ordered a new one, however, after installing it the cistern fills up nice and quick but wont stop when the float lifts. The parts look identicle. If i put the old one, with the split, back on it fills up slow but does shut off when the float lifts.
Any suggestions please!?

If you have the exact same part and have fitted it correctly, then you should be in business. That the water flow isn't being closed off as the water fills the cistern makes me wonder (sorry). Could you have set the float too high? Double check the part and refit. Must be something simple....0

'Must be something simple....'
That's what i keep telling myself, however if i put the old part back in it shuts the water off when the float rises but put the new one in and the float doesn't stop the water once it rises. I've swapped them back and forth a few times now.
I must be going mad, it's not a complicated system!
Could to much water pressure cause this fault as i could back off the isolation valve?0 -
Regulating the water pressure ........ not really the answer IMHO but it might work. Can you google your piece of kit and see if there is an install guide?
Could there be a high or low pressure version of the part you sourced?
Sorry mate maybe one of the specialist on here will be along with the lightbulb answer.

make sure you have the correct siamp washer. there are two types very similar.
one is only 15mm high.
and your float may need adjusting.Get some gorm.0 -
