Breakdown/Tyre help!
My tyre punctured yesterday night, we have tried to change the tyre but one of the wheel bolts is well and truly stuck (think it is cross threaded). Is there any way to get this out? Only have the basic tools that came with the car and I cant physically move the car.
Also, if I took out breakdown cover now would I be covered immedietely?

How punctured is it? If you pumped it up could you get to a garage or tyre fitter (after replacing the other nuts)
You need a decent socket and a long extension bar. And if the nut & stud are damaged they'll need to be replaced - breakdown probably wouldn't carry these.
If you can't shift the car, best option is probably to ask a local garage or tyre fitter to come to you. Or look for a local mobile mechanic.0 -
I had one last year that had been overtightened with a gun....grr. Even an 8' pole wouldn't shift it and the weelbrace will never be the same again......:):(0

There was a thread a few backs debating whether there's any need for run-flat tyres. I'd suggest this is the sort of occasion when they can be quite useful.0

A can of Tyreweld (or other brand name) will get you to the tyre fitters and then they can probably sort you out from there.0
