Boots - no gift receipt for guarantee

Went to buy son's girlfriend small electrical item and first told no gift receipt - OK I can offer to exchange but then told only way guarantee is valid/printed is with full receipt showing cost of item. They used to do do gift receipts and use those for guarantee but have stopped - even the manager agreed with me that it is not good customer practice.

Keep the receipt yourself if there is a problem with the item you can give her the receipt if and when that happens. Problem solved.

Thank you - I did realise that but they live in Scotland so slightly more problematic but other stores do this and Boots used to that's what I'm saying
