Birmingham Midshires & Saga online accounts

I have a Saga online account. I'm looking at BM for an option right now, online. The Login URL points to the same www.esavinsaccount.co.uk/.... and these seem to have the problem that if you have been accessing Saga, then go to BM, the login is similarly designed. No problem to access BM (I guess). It appears to write a cookie so that the next time Saga is accessed, up comes the BM logon.
I have written to BM about this and they said you have to delete cookies before moving from one to another. What a pain!! Anyone elso have this problem, and if so how do you get around not deleting cookies. I don't mind doing that from time to time to generally clean things up, but not too often.

https://www.esavingsaccount.co.uk/saga/_mem_bin/FormsLogin.asp,
whilst BM login points to https://www.esavingsaccount.co.uk/bm/_mem_bin/FormsLogin.asp
Going to BM login then Saga, brings up BM and not Saga and can't be rectified until cookies are deleted.0 -
You are right, it is a pain - you could try using a different browser for each, e.g. Firefox for Saga, and I.E for BM. ( or Opera or Google Chrome etc.)Maybe it's just me0

Looks like yet another triumph for customer service. I had this with Saga and AA accounts earlier this year - complained a few times, and probably many others did as well as it 'went away' after a few weeks.
Just tried the AA/Saga now and yes, it's back (AA is same format as your BM link with /aa/ instead of /bm/). Will have another whinge at them, but looks like this could return at any time... (gits!)0 -

My query to BM was this:
I am thinking of opening a BM account for online access. I also have Saga online accounts. I notice that the account logon for both point to https://www.esavingsaccount.co.uk.
I also recall an occasion some time ago when browsing products on BM site when I accidentally clicked account login. Then when I came to logon to my Saga account the rather similar BM logon appeared. I had to delete all cookies to prevent this.
So my question is - would I still have this problem if I were to open and use a BM online account concurrent with Saga?
Their answer:
Dear xxxxxxxx
Thank you for your email.
I confirm this should not happen providing you delete all cookies from your computer.
I hope this information is helpful.

I have asked if there is any way around this to use both - awaiting answer.0 -
Since I have accounts with BM, Saga and AA I've been puzzling as to why I've never seen this behaviour before. As far as I can see there doesn't seem to be a problem as long as you close the Browser between accounts (and no I don't have it set to clear cookies on exit). Could it be a Browser cache issue?Stompa0

You are right! Close the Browser and it is OK! I used to use IE when I experience the problem a while back! I set Custom Settings in FF so that it doesn't remember search and form data (it was filling in some banking usernames etc - Post Office in particular). It is also set to accept third party cookies until they expire (the default as far as I know).
This afternoon BM didn't offer any solution (before reading your post) which said:
Dear Mr XXXXX
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide another solution at this time and to ensure no errors occur we would advise you to delete the cookies on your computer to enable you to use both BM and Saga logins.
I hope this information is helpful.

Cheers Stompa - won't need that tip for a while as currently next-to-nowt in Saga (and will obviously have forgotten by tomorrow...!).0

Just a thought - most of the esavingsaccount cookies expire at end of session - closing the browser will expire these, but I dimly recall** these can also be timed out (at either end) - any Cookie Monsters around?
I suspect it should be good practice to delete these when you log out of a service - could be what they weren't doing when I had the no-go then go experience earlier this year?
**old mainframe bod dimly recalls conversation a few years back with young interweb bod...0
