Nectar credit card vs Sainsburys credit card

I applied for a Nectar card whilst i was on the nectar website. 2 reasons really:
1) 6 months 0% on purchases
2) extra nectar points when using the card.
The Nectar card looks purple on the website.
I've just noticed that i've actually been given a Sainsburys credit card that is red.
Has this happened to everyone or have i been sent the wrong card by mistake?

The Nectar card is an AmEx credit card. The Sainsbury's one is from Mastercard. I guess it's possible you followed the wrong link somewhere if you ended up with the wrong one.Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Perhaps. Bit disappointing I was hoping to boost my Nectar account in the process.0

I might be wrong
but dosn't any spending on a Sainsburys card give you Nectar points anyway.
Around 4 years ago I worked with someone who had the Tesco credit card for the Tesco points.0 -

I took out a Sainsbury's nectar credit card a couple of months ago, it's a red card, and doesn't actually mention nectar on the card itself.
However, I get double nectar points for the first two years when paying for my shopping in Sainsbury's and also has an interest free period, how long I can't remember. Got my first month's points transferred just a week ago.
Sounds like the same as yours, so very likely you will get the nectar points boost you are looking for.0 -
The sainsburys card gives double points (i.e. 2 points per £1 spent) in Sainsburys + you get your usual nectar points with your nectar card too, and 1 point per £5 elsewhere (not worth a lot). You only get the extra points for 2 years
The nectar credit card (American express) gives you 2 points per pound in Sainsburys, BP, Homebase and the rest of the nectar places, and 1 point per £1 elsewhere. The card is nothing to do with Sainsburys Bank. The points are ongoing. You still get the usual points with your normal nectar card too
You could just apply for both, as there are often 5000 free points when applying for the Amex nectar card.0
