    Hi Robinred

We recently did our bathroom and due to changing the layout we needed to replace 1700 straight bath (which wasnt wide) with shorter bath and replaced it with a 1500 P shape bath and found it to be more roomy than the old bath. Hubby is 6ft and likes it and my 17 yr old son (Mr Grumpy lol) who hated old bath, loves the new bath, so much so, that we now have to hide the bath plug so that he uses the shower instead, as he likes fillling bath to the brim

Although I have never taken a bath in my house since moving in some years ago as I always use the shower which is fitted over the bath, I wouldn't want to remove the bath and replace with a shower cubicle. The bath has been used for many useful things over the years, including washing the dog, washing clothes when the washing machine broke down and regularly I use it to clean house plants (just put them in bath and rinse all the dust off with the shower). Another issue is if the shower ever broke we would still be able to wash properly at home with just the bath. As shower cubicle with a broken shower is not much use at all.
  • Totally agree, I want the bath for activities like those! Won't be moving ever hopefully so not bothered about boring house price... Just thought though that having a shower cubicle could avoid those terrible student house situations of washing up dishes in the bath! Not that I would be a landlord ever... I am just going to get a smaller bath with a screen and an air shower thing. In the sales of course!
