How do I issue a partial refund to an ebay buyer?

Sold a DVD for £20, charged £2.00 for postage/packaging.

Buyer is in a huff over excessive postage, and complaining that it cost £1 to send etc etc and that he will give me a negative rating if I don't offer some sort of refund.

The email exchange is just doing my head in!!

I've agreed to give back £2. How do I do it? (Payment was via Paypal)

Thanks

Just log in to your paypal account, select the pay tab, fill in the email address of the person and the amount and send it.

Press the refund on the paypal payment you received from the buyer, then change the value so you just refund the £2.00. Double check so you don't issue a full refund.

How did you manage to get round the £1.25 cap that ebay put on DVDs?

Also assuming this is a single or small double set then it can go £1.09 1st class so £2 probably is pushing it a bit- especially if other sellers all stick to the capped postage.

Ebay is incredibly competitive now- and buyers will penailise sellers who look out of line with the majority of others.

I was sick of the cap ebay forced on us, so now i just add a little extra to my item and give free postage. attract more sales this way.

I agree that most sellers would charge less than £2 for a £1 stamp, however no one has even mentioned the feedback extortion!

Save that message / email and if the buyer leaves negative feedback use it to get eBay to remove it. I would even consider reporting this to eBay if the buyer leaves neutral / positive feedback. Feedback extortion is abhorrent in my opinion and sellers need to stand up to it. Nothing wrong with asking for a refund on post, nothing wrong with leaving a neg if refund not given, but give me a refund or else is just wrong.

How does a buyer know whether they are happy with the Postage AND PACKAGING price until they receive it?
