Uniform tax rebate

Hi,

can anybody tell me if after submitting a letter detailing about my corporate wear, do the governement then write to my place of employment before I get the rebate?

I am a little wary of my employer knowing about me asking for this as I could be considered a trouble maker or is it all done at the rebate office?

As far as Im aware claiming for something like this your tax code is adjusted, your employer just gets your new tax code and implements throuh your salary
