I want to buy a PVR from Amazon, if there is anything goes wrong with it do I have to pay to send it back to them and are they responsible for repairing faults within the warranty period?
They are cheaper than J.Lewis but if there are any faults, are J.Lewis as good as they say they are with regards to warranties etc?
I do like shopping locally as opposed to net shopping it makes it more personal but needs must and I need to save with cash back on this purchase.
thanks to al who reply.

Are you buying directly from Amazon? If you are they are pretty good on the rare occasion I have had to return anything they have always reimbursed the return cost when I asked.
Are you expecting it to fail? If so Id look at different models.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

I bought a microwave from amazon which developed a fault after a few months- they paid for the courier to have it returned and I got a new one without any problems. Couldn't fault their customer service. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

If there is a fault then the retailer (Amazon) pays for the return. (Just raise a fault note - RMA - in your Amazon account. They usually offer a mechanism whereby you can print off a pre-paid returns label that you attach to the goods). The retailer can then determine the remedy (refund, repair, replace), unless the goods have arrived faulty (or become faulty within a "reasonable" time - consumers have a "reasonable" period after which they are deemed to have accepted the goods) whereby the consumer can reject the goods and demand a refund.
Depending on the type of goods, J Lewis offer a 5 year warranty - this can be worth the additional price.

I ave read on AVforums that they were having problems (minor) with the PVR I want, but they still say it is better than any other and gets shot of paying SKY! s I said I have read about PVR's and there does not appear to be one that has no problems.. a leap of faith I think! You live..You learn.:)0
