I have registered on here today to warn people of my experience. I recently bought some anti ageing cream online using promotional codes to reduce the items to a couple of pounds each. I checked everything l ticked etc etc and double checked amount leaving my account and so on. All fine so far - got an email from the company saying goods would arrive soon - which they duly did. Two transactions were confirmed from my bank account - £2+ each as expected. Not very good products l have to say with very little instruction on how to use and/or how to mix the two - which the advert advised for maximum results - but l thought 'hey' ok for a few quid and they threw in a free eye cream.
Two weeks later l was checking my bank account thinking my balance was a bit on the light side and there was a transaction - payment to 'Anti Rides Serum' £74.95. li rang my bank immediately who told me - the young man finished off the sentence for me in fact - that they were aware of this one ! They said what this company had actually done is taken out a subscription fee which l will have unwittingly signed up to when making the purchase. It will be in their terms and cond.s apparently. He said he would send them a cancellation notice (one month !) and if anything came out after that to ring the bank again. He suggested l also send the company an email stating l want no further dealings and to delete my bank/payment dealings from their records. He then said if they take anymore out after my email then they are breaking law. But apparently none of this is illiegal and the bank cant help me get back the £75. I sent the email worded as advised and l did also ask for my money back (the £75 obv.) - you never know - pigs might fly. Help! -any advice to help me get this back ?

I think you'll find a lot of people on the forum have already experienced this. It's been doing the rounds for a couple of years under one guise or another, anti ageing cream, teeth whitening, weight loss tea. They all work the same way. BUT, they always advise in their T & C's that if you don't cancel after the free trial you will be debited monthly and will receive further products. Your bank can't cancel this for you, you have to do it yourself but once you've cancelled if there are any more debits, you will be able to dispute these. Some people do get refunds so keep your fingers crossed !0

Hi and thanks very much for your replies - yes l have just googled Revitaderm and Revitaderm scam comes up as a suggestion on drop down menu !!! Hindsight eh - bloody marvellous.
I have just rang Consumer Direct who tell me the one thing l can try is to ask my bank to apply the Chargeback Scheme (for visa debit payments similiar to the CCard guarantee) Apparently bank might act dim and say What ?
initially but its worth a go l suppose.
Best bit is my dear hubby - when l told him what had happened - said ' Wrinkle cream - what for - you've not got any '
- ah bless him[STRIKE]wish he'd said that before l ordered the bloody stuff[/STRIKE] 0 -
A chargeback is what your card issuer will action if there are any more debits once you've cancelled. They can't charge back the ones that have already debited as your subscription was still live then.0
