Sorting post by initial post date

Hi

I sometime find it difficult working out what i have and havent read. Maybe I'm not using the forums the best way, in which case let me know and i'll change my ways, promise. I think it would be handy to have a sort by initial post date. We have last time posted which is ok if you want to keep upto date on new replies. But in some forums like "Quick! Grabbit while you can" you simply want to see whats new and not have to go through all the old threads to which someone has replied.

So what do you think, am i doing it wrong or would this be a nice addition?

yeah, that is a common request on vbb boards. it tends to show 'last post' within a thread in the threadview and not 'originally posted on'. i also prefer to see the date of the original post instead...

it is not a complicated hack in the templates although this is certain to confuse others that like it as it is it can be done if you can convince martin

Well it can be added as an option to sort the forums by, but leaving the default as is, and everyones personal settings mean it shouldnt impact on them, and those who wanted to use the new ordering could do so.

So, Martin, any chance of getting this added to the site. Would make life a lot easier to find the newer threads, rather than posts.
