Why can't I get a quote online?

Hi,

A couple of years ago i had to claim for a smashed windscreen. Although its technically not a claim, it's very hard to get an online quote because of this because you have to declare it. Any advice?

It is technically a claim just one that doesnt normally impact your NCD.

I dont know of any site where adding a glass claim prevents you from getting a quote. Which insurers/ sites are you having issues with?

Although its technically not a claim,

it is a claim. even a stone chip repair is a claim.

It is unlikely to result in a refusal to offer terms unless it is on top of a number of other issues you have.

Strange. I had a glass a couple of years ago and one of the main aggregator sites produced 73 quotes for me.

What I mean is that, I didn't know how to deal with it online. You get asked it if you have had a claim and you have to say yes. Even though its doesn't affect your ncd. How do you deal with it online?

You say yes and then later on it will ask you for the details of the claim and you select the appropriate option, normally something like Glass or Windscreen (Confused.com gives you the option called Windscreen Glass which is what you'd select)

You give your NCD and you state you had a claim. There is usually an option in the claim type that states windscreen or glass and you select that.
