Habitat - Taken my money, no goods

Options
On the 1st of December I placed an order via Habitat's online website. It is now 2 weeks later and I still haven't received my order. I have contacted their customer services department by phone 4 times over the past week and this issue still has not been resolved. Numerous times I have been told that someone will phone me back and no one ever does, yet they were extremely efficient in charging me for my items! I have also now spent almost £5.00 on these phone calls. In my first phone call to them I was told that they had no record of my order at all and then that someone would ring me back (which never happened), then I was told when I rang again that it had been found and someone would ring me to tell me when it had been dispatched (still not happened). This morning I rang again and was put in a queue for 5 minutes before I gave up due to the high cost of phoning this number.

As I understand it, they are currently updating their online systems which is why they originally couldn't find my order. However, I haven't had any information from them at all as to when or if I will ever receive my order. And I can't afford to keep ringing them on their premium rate number. This morning I wrote a complaint email to their customer services department to which I got this reply....

I am afraid that due to the internal reorganisation Habitat is going through, the service who is able to track/amend order, check stock availability, answer any query or access your account can only be contacted by phone on 0844 499 46 86. Unfortunately, this department is not able to update any order placed from the 1st of December 2011 or to chase any order not received yet.

I have no idea what I am supposed to do now. They've taken my money, not provided the item and are now stealing more money through expensive phone calls.

Have you tried putting your complaint in writing?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • Have you tried the http://www.saynoto0870.com/ to get an alternative?

Also, how did you pay? If you used a credit card you can dispute it with your CC company to get a refund.

  • I've had exactly the same problem, except no one ever picks up the phone when I call. The email replies I have had have not been helpful and bordering on rude. I can't see the point in them having an email address if they can't answer queries!

Can't find an alternative local number to call so I am reluctant to hang on the phone for too long, plus they don't have opening hours which are suitable for people who work!

The top one is for TNT and all the others are old store numbers, except the one for Westfield
