How much do you pay for bookkeeping?

Ok, hi, hope your exams went ok for you. No, my exam days are long gone apart from some totally unrelated studying I do for fun (ha! must be mental).
You are ok if you work under supervision but you cannot offer the restricted work (such as full financial statement) under your own name/own business until you get your practising certificate. This also means you can't do this under your own name to get the required experience for the certificate. So any of this type of work will need to be done by the business owned by whoever is supervising you. You are also not permitted to be a partner in a firm until you have your certificate. So yes, you do seem either very un-researched on this, or determined to try and get round the regs. Which will backfire.
Here is the intro to the regs on the certificate from the ACCA website. They really are not in the slightest ambiguous on this. I just would hate to see you lose your ACCA membership after all that time, money and effort. They do take this extremely seriously.
"Under the terms of ACCA's global practising regulations, it is mandatory for members to hold an ACCA practising certificate in order to carry out work under ACCA's definition of public practice or to be partners or directors of a firm that undertakes public practice work."Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
Thanks heretolearn
you are right that i am very under reasearched. I had a quick browse and thought i understood the requirements but there is more to it than i thought.
I will be sitting down at the weekend to go through this and will speak to ACCA to make sure i am going about it in the right way.
Thanks for taking the time to respond as you have helped to point me in the right direction
