Leaving Feedback before even paid or sent ?

Never really noticed this before ,but how and why is it possible for a buyer to leave feedback to a seller for an item that they have not paid for and so has not obviously been sent ?
this case being the point - I list something specifically timed for Xmas last post etc on a 7 day listing ,buyer jumps in at the end and wins item for £50 something ,next day email that says " my child bid on item - wont be paying as have no money" basically
I have not responded yet as waiting to cool down etc ( also notice that they are selling a £16k speedboat from their username )
email from them 1 day later -"you have not yet replied- will you agree to cancel sale?"
still fuming - yet they as the buyer ,still has feedback options over me ,even though theyve not paid and are never going to - even if I demand listing fees back ,they could leave damaging feedback
wheres the justice ?:(

If they don't pay, then they can't leave FB. You could have it removed by ebay.
Their follow up email isn't exactly polite! If it were me, I'd be begging an grovelling. I'd be tempted to just open a non paying bidder after 4 days, then hope that they don't pay, then close it 4 days later. If they do pay, then send it tracked, and if they do then leave a neg, just politely respond to it.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
yes ,true , I was forgetting the NPB route and then could claim my listing fees back by Ebay ...........for a while there though I was thinking about bidding on a certain speedboat !.........( or rather my son was .....)As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0

It could be genuine, it happened to me when ebay and everything was relatively new. I was watching a tracksuit for my son's bday, while I was at work, the wee b***** managed to buy 10 of them!! Luckily the seller was very understanding, however, I was very polite and grovelling in my mails to them :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

Update to this story...opened a NPB dispute to get my fees back ....( by the way - noticing in theyre feedback that they had just bought a very similar item ,even though they claimed to have no money - and after apparently selling the speed boat - although all bidders were private for some reason ) ........They have now bought the item AND contacted Ebay for my name ,address and telephone number AND sent the following email THROUGH the Ebay message system................
Just a little email to remind you of what you are a very sad person. Emailed you twice to see if we could cancel sale. You didnt reply then opened unpaid dispute.Very Sad,Little boy *****.No friends and turkey for one i imagine.Ill send you your £** as you need it so bad, lets hope for your sake its as discribed or might have to open a "not as discribed dispute fool.
Some people !! :mad:As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -
Thats a threat that no matter what - they are going to file a claim against you and probably leave a negative - which is against ebay rules. One for live chat i think - or a phone call to ebay. Retaliation is against ebay rules - although they refused to help me after i suffered the same.
Ebay wont give them your address.0 -
I would be so tempted to buy their speedboat....
Send them the same response they sent you.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
