  • i would ask the to define fixtures and fittings.

if it was a gearbox bolt so to speak my argument would be that any bolt holding a vital componant is not a fixture or fitting its a componant essential to that part.
  • Went on air at 11:05.

i heared, what needs to be established for the jaw to drop on this warranty CO is to establish the bolt that cause the box failure,

if the bolt was internal to the gearbox then sorry but this should be classed as a part of the gearbox's makeup, not a fixture and fitting.
  • The garage confirmed to WMS - Warranty Management Services Haddenham Bucks that the bolt came from inside the gearbox.

WMS know it came from inside the gearbox as they sent an 'independent assessor' and still say they will not pay as they do not cover fastenings and fittings.

Good luck and keep us all informed
  • Well Christmas came a little early this year!

Went on air on the JVS show last week after some advice from a poster on this site.

Jonathan Vernon Smith took on my case and called the warranty company last Wednesday.

On Friday I received a call from the warranty company MD. He said he had read through my claim and has decided to pay for the repairs. My claim limit is £1000 but the garage bill was £1490. He said he would settle in full.

My garage received the cheque this morning and my repair will be finished by the new year.

    The power of the media.....

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice on this forum. My vehicle would not have been repaired without your help.

We can now get back to our job of repairing/supplying customers PC's!

If more of us either do not buy these warranties or fight when they refuse to pay......

Its a shame it takes something like this to get it resolved but a good result all the same.

As usual, the more noise you make the more they bend over backwards to make it go away...
