Anybody used Hiscox home insurance??

Does anybody have any experience of using Hiscox? I just saw an advert and they seem to pride themselves on having less restrictions/exclusions and much more generous cover than over insurance companies. Ive just done a quote online and its beaten my existing direct line policy price hands down! The policy seems to be very good i.e. it includes acidental damage as standard and there is no need to list high value items etc , but it would be nice to hear if anybody else has had any experience with them before i switch.

  • Hiscox are usually a "high net worth" insurer - in other words not too keen on the usual run of the mill house or contents but for the higher value property and contents. I know of them and they are a good outfit with generous cover and excellent service, good claims and do offer cover above and beyond what most policies cover - if they are cheaper (or shall we say - more competitive) that D/L - go for it.
