Quick question on utilities

We've been renting a property for around 18 months now and have been with British Gas the whole time (in my name).
I had a look on USwitch tonight and it says I can save around £150 per year by moving. Question is, do I need to let the LandLady I'm moving or am I free to do as I wish without letting the LL know? I'm guessing I should let he know out of courtesy only.

You can freely change supplier.
Your tenancy agreement may contain a clause stating that you should notify your landlord of the change.0 -
Whether your tenancy has or has not such a clause, it is both polite and tenant-like to inform your landlady so that she knows who to deal with when you leave.
But it is up to you to decide who you contract to supply your gas/electricity.0 -
You are the customer buying the gas from the gas supplier, so you can change to whichever supplier you wish. You don't ask your landlord where to buy your groceries or fuel for your car, so why should this be any different?0

Just thought I would mention to the OP that I have just sorted out the Gas and Electrics for my new house and Npower are doing a deal where if you stay with them for 12months you get a £100 discount. And if you go through Quidco or Topcahsback you get £100 for going on their fixed deal and slightly less for their other deals, worth a look if you want to save and make some money.0
