Liverpool Victoria Insurance

I had home insurance with them for a couple of years. Never had to claim so can't comment on their service, but their original price was very competitive.
Last October I switched my mortgage to Barclays, who offered an attractive price for home insurance. I said I was interested and over the phone set up a direct debit to start a month later, giving me time to cancel the LV insurance.

I managed to forget to contact LV until after the Barclays Insurance started, so for a few weeks I was paying twice. I rang LV to cancel, and to my astonishemnt and delight they refunded me the premium I'd paid them for the period after the Barclays policy had started - over £40.

They had nothing whatsoever to gain from this kind gesture - I was taking business away from them - so I have to pay tribute to them.
