E-cheque payment

I am fairly new to selling and have just had my first e-cheque payment. The message I have received states that I shouldn't post anything until the e-cheque clears, between the 21/23!!!! Was the seller aware that they were sending an e-cheque and that they would have to wait for clearance before I sent anything? Otherwise they're going to be really happy about it. TBH as the item with postage comes to under £5 and the buyer checks out as a good buyer and seller, I'm tempted to send it earlier anyway. Just wondering what anyone else would do.
Thanks

I sometimes send anyway if the buyer has a good buying history. Otherwise I send them a message via ebay asking them if they are aware they have paid by echeque (often they don't even realise) and offer them the chance to pay by bank transfer instead, or if not, acknowledge they realise it will take longer.
I've had an echeque payment today and by the time it clears it will be too late to send in time for Christmas. Its a new user so I'm not risking sending it but have made it very clear to them that they may not get it for Christmas if they wait for the echeque to clear.
My hope is if they do leave bad feedback that I have all the evidence that they were warned.0 -
I don't have a registered credit/debit card on my paypal account (I don't trust paypal!)
So when I buy something on ebay I have to raise an e-cheque.
Why does it then take 4 days for the process grind on before the money is taken from my account, another 2 days to get to the seller.
Is it just to encourage people to have a 'normal' account where paypal can take money from your bank account without any say so from you?0 -
As a seller I hate echeques. I do not accept them on my website but unfortunately when you sell on ebay you are forced to accept them. I would have thought if ebay/paypal wanted everyone to have 'normal' accounts they would allow sellers to block them on ebay too.Is it just to encourage people to have a 'normal' account where paypal can take money from your bank account without any say so from you?0
