Groupon Boomclick snow socks deal

Options
Did anyone buy this deal? Has anyone had delivery of theirs yet? I paid for them at the end of October and was told they would be delivered within 28 days, but am still waiting and haven't even had email confirmation yet.

Seen on a thread somewhere else that other people are having problems, and there's not actually a telephone number listed on the website, so one guy drove to the address listed, as it was just up the road, only to find it was just a forwarding address for hundreds of companies.

Starting to smell something a bit fishy here :(

  • Likewise..... I ordered at the end of October and have still not received anything apart from excuses and apologies. Getting a bit fed up. I would prefer to get my money back and get some from Halfords. J

    Hi.

I ordered the socks on 28/10/11 & still have yet to receive them.

I e-mailed Boomclick but got no reply. Have been unable to find a phone number for them either in the UK or Ireland (where they appear to be based).

I rang Groupon this morning on 0844 344 5719 who advised that the new latest delivery date is 20/12/11. They wouldn't provide a phone number for Boomclick but said they would send their own e-mail asking for them to contact me.

By the time I had hung up the phone I had an e-mail from Dior at Boomclick apologising for the delay & advising that I would definitely have the snow socks before Christmas.

This experience will definitely put me off ordering anything through Groupon again.

I got nowhere complaining to Groupon until I did a dispute via my credit card company, only then did I get a refund.

  • Ordered mine on 31st October. Still no show. No reply from Boomclick, no phone numbers anywhere. No Experion details as being ROI they are a manual report only. Phoned Groupon 28 minute wait for them to answer the phone. Was given the "High Demand" spiel and told all orders would be completed by 20th December. The call taker was "only aware of one other complaint" against Boomclick so get calling. (Groupon Customer Support: 02035 100410). I have asked them to cancel my order... and this is where the storey really starts... as the voucher has been redeemed they will not refund my money until they have had confirmation from Boomclick!!!!!!! And there was me thinking my contract was with them. They are saying a refund will be issued within a month.
  • Just received this from Groupon Customer Services...

    Hi XXXXX,

I am the Customer Services Manager here at Groupon, ***** has passed your details on to myself. She has explained that you wanted to discuss some of our processes. I believe that you require an explanation in regards to the 10 working days it takes for a refund to be processed. We firstly have to contact the partner business to cancel your order, this takes between 3-5 working days. If you would rather forward confirmation from the partner yourself then please feel free to do so.

Once we have received confirmation from the partner we process the refund back to your method of payment. As with all refunds the timescale for this is a further 3-5 working days. I hope this answers your query, please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    XXXXX

It would appear that Groupon are having as much trouble contacting Boomclick as we are! Interesting that the month is now 10 days though. That said with Christmas approaching fast that could be a month.

    Hi

Just to let you know that the snow socks arrived via Royal Mail on Saturday morning.

We haven't had cause to use them yet but they look reasonable quality.

Hopefully everyone elses will arrive over the next day or two. :)

  • Thanks for the replies, and for updating with a successful delivery MrsM71! Good to know they seem okay. Keeping my eyes peeled for them this week now as they were promised before Christmas....
  • Received this morning...

    Hi ******,

We have been inundated with emails, apologies for the late reply.

I can assure you that we will complete your order. Majority of orders were completed on Friday 16th December and any remaining orders are expected to be completed today and tomorrow. We are doing our best to ensure that you receive your snow sock in time for Christmas. Again, our sincere apologies for the delay and any inconvenience caused.

    Kind Regards

...and after threatening to pursue "alternative means" of recovery I received this e-mail from Groupon...

    Hi ******,

I really am sorry about the delay, I now have authorisation to process your refund. I have now cancelled your Groupons for Boomclick and refunded the amount of £** back to your method of payment. Our partner has already been informed that this Groupon is no longer valid. Please allow up to 5 working days for the payment to clear back to your account.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

    Kind regards,
