Travel Insurance

I'm trying to find Travel Insurance for a 5 day breeak in the UK next week. When looking online the policies all seem to be geared up towards overseas holidays. I just want something to insure our belongings if our accomodation was broken into and something that would cover us if we had to reurn early due to an emergency at home, for example.

Most policies I've looked at don't seem to specify if they cover for break ins to the accomodation, is this just something you get as standard? I'm a bit confused, can anyone help me :o

Maybe you can get a policy for the UK only by going through a broker.

Policies normally states that personal belongings are covered if they are stolen from a safety deposit box or you locked accommodation provided forced entry has been used. However travel insurance doesn't cover new for old and you will only get a percentage back and many policies insist that you have receipts for the goods that were stolen.
  • have you tried insure and go?

check out your household insurance policy as your items will probably be covered under that.
also check out the post office for coverage of curtailing your holiday.
