AVIVA Car Insurance Cancellation Policy

A cancellation should be straightforward enough but in the case of AVIVA this was not a pleasant experience.
I challenged a cancellation fee of £123 as the section explaining Cancellation of Policy stated a fee of no more than £40 would apply for insurance premium tax purposes.
The main point to understand in all of this is that while i had received correspondence from AVIVA by email and post and was assured that they were dealing with my complaint, they initiated a Debt Collection company to pursue me for the debt without giving me a full and final response.
When talking to the debt collectiing agency it was obvious that they had no idea that my case had not been heard and were happy just to aggressively state that i owed the money.
AVIVA for their part didn't understand why the debt collection agency had my details and were pursuing me, but somebody must have been responsible for the decision to pursue me irrespective of my complaint not being heard fully. The fact is that when i contacted AVIVA my case documents were not complete and it needed my prompting for them to submit them on the following day
This debt has now been paid but i do not have confidence to use AVIVA
services in the future.

Aviva dont charge a £123 fee for cancellation. They charge £40 (going by your comments) as a cancellation fee plus any outstanding premium due to the next cancellation point and there may be some non-refundable extras you bought which have to be factored in.
I dont know what IPT would have to do with it.
