Any suggestions how to post vinyl 12" albums safely? I posted a 7" single last week using a clean pizza box but the larger pizza boxes aren't big enough.
Thanks

You need a 12" flat cardboard envelope. Make sure you package well, especially the corners of the sleeve. And don't forget to write FRAGILE on the front of the envelope.0

If possible, get hold of the thick 12" mailers, the ones which are about an inch thick. Use plenty of stiffening (e.g 1 or 2 cardboard sheets 12" square.) If your package is bendable in any way the Epsilons at Royal Mail will bend it.0

I bought a huge box of those 12" mailers each with 2 corrugated card stiffeners ages ago on eBay, with the plan that I could list the rest of them back on eBay when I've sold all the records I was planning to sell (still haven't got there yet). But it's looking like I might try to sell a few more so may not have that many left.
Anyway, have a look at eBayer climaczuk. Note that some of their listings have free P&P, some don't. You might get better value by buying bigger packs of mailers.0 -

Get some free cardboard boxes from a supermarket, some have them near the checkouts.
Open out the boxes flat and cut two 13" squares of cardboard and Sellotape them together0 -
That's the sort of approach I would use for the odd one or two albums. If I was selling many, I'd buy the mailers for the sake of convenience.Sooler wrote:Get some free cardboard boxes from a supermarket, some have them near the checkouts.

Id it wasn't already marked on purpose-made mailers, I'd put "FRAGILE - PLEASE DO NOT BEND" on both sides.0 -

You're most welcome!
I was very pleased to find them, as most other places I'd seen (online stores, mostly) had been a lot more expensive. The actual mailers are very tough and the stiffeners seem to do the job. Only problem is they're just the right size for a single 12" record. A double album will almost certainly not fit unless you take one of the stiffeners out. 0
