WARNING: Groupon/Matching Bedrooms taking your money

There seems to be a lot of unhappy customers with Matching Bedrooms via a Groupon deal:
Ordered a matress via a Groupon deal 2 months ago hoping to get it in time for Xmas. Told they deliver within 2-4 weeks. Still have not received the matress after 2 months. We've spoken to them three times and they've told us it's packed and ready for delivery. They are utter liars. We've emailed customer service many times too but they don't reply. Some people are reporting they put the phone down on them too. They've taken a huge amount of bulk money upfront from the Groupon deal including a delivery charge so must be pocketing the interest and not delivering the product. Clearly there is a scam going on. I urge you to stay away from this company.
We are trying to get our money back, it seems like we are not the only ones, take a look at shobby.co.uk/shop,5096.html.
What can we do about companies like this, I know they can deliver when they want really but the whole customer service and the way they are treating their customers and their money is an absolute disgrace?

I have requested a refund from Matching Bedrooms today, Though im not so sure Im going to get one! Ordered mattress 22/10/11.
Im really upset about this as I am so cautious as a rule and dont normally go for the "to good to be true" deals but this time I did and its been a complete nightmare.
I almost felt sorry for them last week when they finally responded to me with the story of over 5000 orders and delays blah blah blah, but my patience ran out today when I read a few reviews and realised people are still waiting and getting no response.
They had a facebook page that could be posted on but even that has been closed down.
Ive contacted Watch dog, Ive also contacted Groupon asking them to sort out a refund. Now theres another thing, I was receiving daily emails from groupon re their deals, but that stopped last week for some reason...maybe I got on their nerves with my constant chasing!!!
I dont know where else to go from here.....any tips??
Thanks0 -

Hi Bud,
I contacted groupon and while it took over a week for them to response, they are processing my refund as we speak, so should have it in 14 days give or take.0 -

Hi guys,
I have finally received my mattress that was ordered on the 24th of October. After weeks of aggravation (because I was told the delivery would take 2-3 weeks) I almost cried when it came today...
If you have not received your mattress yet, I recommend that you stop the delivery and ask for your money back and invest it in a good mattress.
The mattress came rolled up in plastic and it was delivered by one guy. Since the mattress has been rolled up for weeks (months?) it is not in good shape. The edges are completely ruined from the fold and if you are laying close to the edge you are tilted outwards as to fall off the mattress - the "Reinforced edge support" is non-existent or perhaps ruined from the fold.
When you sit on the edge of the mattress, your pretty much fall through half way as if it was a broken mattress.
Also, since it was rolled, the mattress is not flat, you can feel the bend under your back. I turned it around for the worst part to be under my legs but you can still feel the uneven surface. The edges are completely crooked and uneven.
By the way, the mattress is not the high-quality mattress that you saw on the picture. As a matter of fact, there is nothing high-quality about it. It is a regular spring pocket mattress that you can probably get down the street from your local furniture store for about the same price that you paid via Groupon.
I wish I could cut it open to see if there is really "Several layers of luxury fillings" because it certainly does not feel like that.
The "High quality woven damask fabric" is pretty much polyester/plastic and I cannot feel any traces of fabric (unless there is plastic fabric that I did not know about?).
One notable thing is that there is no link to this product (mattress) on the Matching Bedrooms website. The only way I could find it is via their search function. So it appears to me that hey are not selling this product under the regular price. This seems to be strategically placed only for Groupon sales.
The delivery in itself has been a pain. First contact was to tell me that I was not home for the delivery when they attempted the first delivery. There was no information prior to that. Second contact is when I called them to reschedule the delivery and we scheduled it for the following week.
So, I took a day off from work and was sitting home waiting as there is no time range. At 4 pm I got worried and called them. 30 minutes later I got to speak to a customer representative who told me that my package "did not make it on the van that day." Because of this I lost one day of vacation and have to take yet another day for the new delivery.
So, ca. 2 months after the order. I have used up 2 vacation days out of 20 (10% of my vacation) and I have a horrible cheap mattress that is crooked. Anyway I look at it, I cannot help by feeling scammed or fooled.
I am a long term online shopper but this has been the worst experience so far. I have believed in Groupon deals but majority of the times had a hassle with them. Today I have contacted them and asked for a full refund.
I have plenty of pictures to add if anyone would like to see.0 -
I bought Groupon vouchers for the mattress from Matching Bedrooms and the ride-on car from Gadjet Wizard, advertised as an ideal Christmas gift. I'm following the advice given on MSE. I sent "time is the essence letters" to all three companies on 08 December giving them until today to confirm the goods would be delived by 22 December. They haven't replied. So, I've bought similar products and I'm claiming the cost of the replacement products, the delivery charges I paid and my time and expenses trying to get a response from them. I've given them until 03 January to pay up. If they don't, I'll add a sum for breach of contract and given them another 10 days to pay. If they don't, I'll issue summons through the small claims. I suggest others do the same.0

I purchased 1 double mattress from matchingbedrooms via groupon on the 21st October.Mattress did arrive about 3 weeks later rolled in plastic.Got the mattress on the bed left it for another 2 weeks hoping it will rise more and fill the sides. This is a cheap waste of money mattress, no side support at all,you sink to the base when you sit on it, sides not quilted and it is not 27cms deep. For a £600 mattress they dont have a manufactures label on it, doesnt state any info at all just a fire retardant label.I have contacted groupon about this item and after 2 weeks replied telling me to contact matchingbedrooms direct. This was very difficult as their phone was always engaged but finally got through and was told to return the mattress via citylink. Can you image the cost of the courier!, I live in the North of Ireland.Very dissappointing purchase im not happy at all ,feel I have been ripped off and would like a refund.0

Just to say I received a telephone call on Monday, promising delivery of my mattress this week (purchased via Groupon, in October). I had just requested my money back and given up hope of receiving it. Matching Bedrooms apologised and explained massive demand, caused problems etc.
My mattress arrived today and delivered by their own drivers. I received a call which gave me a 2 hour time slot, which was even more convenient. There seems to be a lot of unhappy customers with Matching Bedrooms via a Groupon deal:

Unfortunately, I didn't get the mattress I ordered through Matching Bedrooms. I sent my letters of intended legal action to Matching Bedrooms and Groupon yesterday. They have 2 weeks to meet my claim. If not, I'll sue them through the small claims.0
