Hi Judi
Saveonline 9 is what we call a Fixed Term Capability contract. This means you'll have 12 months on the tariff from the date you signed up.
As the product was only launched at the beginning of this August, the earliest possible expiry date is 4 August 2012. This means you won't be affected by a tariff change until sometime after this date.
Saveonline 9 is, though, a variable tariff and will be affected by any price changes. Not aware of anything like this at the moment though.
As long as the Direct Debit is covering the usage and the account is in the black, it looks as though you should be ok, but I'm only guessing.

:rotfl: Whatever happened to the Plain English Campaign.
Wonder how much the marketing advisors were paid for that one.
Another one for the 'Reset'.0 -

Malc or team...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is what I and others here know as a "Guaranteed discount" tariff.
Regarding the highlighted quotes above, have you got your argument in a twist or is there a deliberate and intended obfuscation (which is lost on me) between "tariff change" and "price change"?0 -

.....and even then the guarantee is limited and another play on words.
You start with a discount dressed as a guarantee but it is still variable.
Of course it's obfuscation.:)0 -
Hi dprice
Your monthly payments need to cover the ongoing usage.
Payment arrangements are reviewed after each scheduled bill. If you’re paying too much, the monthly amount will be lowered automatically to reflect this.
Hope this explains what happens dprice. Let me know if you need any more info as will be happy to help.
Malc
Hi Malc,
I fully undestand what you're saying. However, one advantage of paying by direct debit is that it should represent an average over a period of time. It's difficult for people to budget if their DDs go up and down by a significant amount within a short space of time
My energy usage has been fairly constant for the past 5 years and I have a good idea of how much my energy costs are. My experience of E.ON is, that they reduce a DD, which then causes a negative balance, which is then followed by a request for a rediculously high DD amount.
Regards
