  • You won't be getting it until after atos medical assessment (if win score more than 15 points) otherwise you will be on the standard rate of esa £67.50 per week (during assessment phase or awaiting appeal) but if you are on the jsa, you will get it straight away.

You need to be receiving Income Related ESA and either DLA HRC or be in the ESA Support Group (obviously the latter doesn't apply at the moment). The premium should be payable even when receiving the assessment rate. See

Can you point me to any legislation that has changed how ESA operates with regard the premiums since 2008?

My understanding is same as Scarlet's. It'd be added to IR ESA if you get DLA HRC or ESA Support Grp. The DWP unfortunately seem to refer to it as the Disability Income Guarantee in a breakdown of my ESA payments... just to make it even more complicated for disabled people.

Hmm should do as long as IR ESA (or underlying entitlement to IR). They'll automatically add it if they regard you as eligible for it.
