You do realise that the "£9 per month less" is just based on an estimate they have made of what your usage is going to be. It could be completely wrong.
Also, sorry to be cynical but your generous offer of "sign-up details" sounds suspicious. Some kind of referral offer perhaps?

Yep. I joined Ovo at the start of December and theres some sort of refer a friend scheme...0 -
Checked out OVO as I am with BG Websaver 11 and would save £2 a year, but I use 4499Kw a year so probably not so good for high users.0

Since i changed from Atlantic Electric and Gas to Ovo around Feb 2010 ive gone from being in the red approx £130 (owed to Atlantic Electric and Gas) and also paying them at the time £132 per month, to now being £412.63 in credit with Ovo
:money: and now only
paying £85 per month  ....Ovo also pays me 3% interest every month on any monies i have in credit, which as far as i am aware of no other energy supplier does this.
I have used from Nov 2010-Nov 2011 7,388 kwh of Electricity at a cost of £601.29p and 8,514 kwh of Gas which cost £227.53p
The statments are easy to read and understand (even for me
, 2 very simple easy to understand tariffs ( unlike 1 company featured on Watchdog that had somewhere in the region of 60 different Tariffs! . Yes, there are standing charges to pay but being a fairly high user of energy, this is more than offset with a low price per KW ( and yes Ovo dont hide the cost per KW unlike many others....I licken it to say filling up your car with petrol at the petrol station, putting in say £50 of fuel for example and not knowing the price per litre...most normal :wall: people simply wouldnt dream of doing that...but why do so many do the very same thing with Gas & Electric ?
P.S i do not work or have any affiliation with Ovo...i'm simply a very happy Customer! :T0 -
I agree that OVO are a good company just now. Shame they aren't the cheapest for me or I'd go back with them. I do wonder though as they become more popular if things will deteriorate.0
