Halifax PPi delay tactic

Chased up my ppi payment today as due to be paid tomorrow. Was told they scanned my acceptance on 27th Nov. When I advised that, actually, I knew they had received the acceptance on the 15th Nov I went on hold before being told that "oh yes, we have two dates and this has been escalated to a manager and we still hope to make payment tomorrow".
You've been warned, people.

Halifax were due to pay the refund yesterday. Despite my calls and the 'escalation' of my case the new line is that it could take a further 28 days to pay because of the backlog. Another excuse with no real reasons given.

My payment was due on 8th November! I've been fobbed off with the 30/28 day line, escalated to wherever 3 times and currently I'm in the processes of going through all the departments within the Halifax/Lloyds and no doubt Noddy's local Toy Town branch will get a looksy before Camblewick Green stamp it any day now. But that's all fairy tales, or is it?
I'm interested to know if anyone has actually been paid. If so I doubt there are many of them.0 -

Loads of people have been paid. The problem Halifax has is a massive backlog. This in turn is not helped by the fact they are auto upholding complaints whether you have a case or not to try and clear that backlog. This in turn is increasing the workload of those that issue the payments to far greater levels than they were ever set up to deal with.
If Halifax went back to rejecting frivolous try-it-on complaints and those without a case to answer, the payments for those upheld would get out quicker. However, that would create a jam at the decision end as the cases would be looked at more thoroughly.
You will get there and be happy that you have got lucky with it being Halifax and the auto uphold.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
