Wednesday 14th December - What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning all,
Happy hump day!
I have managed to get up earlier today, hurray! However I fear as I am so tired I will simply walk around like a zombie instead of using the extra time productively...hmm...
Today's plan:-

- [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]
- [strike]Check out this weeks flylady thread[/strike][strike] & do something[/strike]

- [STRIKE]Use free washing up liquid[/STRIKE]
- Dinner from meal plan
- Take refillable water bottle to TKD tonight
- [STRIKE]Package up some clothes to take back[/STRIKE]
- Write email of complaint to the company who did the course at the weekend
- [STRIKE]Wrap some more presents if there's time (unlikely though!) with paper bought in last year's sales. I bought loads of it & it looks like I will need to do the same this year as we have used up a couple of rolls already![/STRIKE] - Managed 4 more...lol
- Cancel Amazon Prime before I forget!
- [STRIKE]Activate new cc that arrived last week....[/STRIKE]:o
- [strike]Read Martin's email[/strike]
- [strike]Check new Travelzoo top 20 for possible bargain honeymoon[/strike] - Utterly rubbish this week

- [STRIKE]Try to stay awake to actually get all of this done, there really should be a zombie smiley as that's how I feel right now![/STRIKE] - & with that I give up & go to bed at 11.30pm, not bad.

Hi
I'm affraid my list won't be as long as yours, suffering with CFS tends to plan my day's for me, some are good and others bad but today I will declutter my wardrobe and make a start on the filing cabinet however this will be ontop of the usual household chores.:):money:0 -
Not much for me today (too busy with work) but I have done a yougov survey this morning which leaves me only 25 points (one survey) off getting my hands on £50, which will go straight to my credit card I finally get it.0

Have a great, MSE day everyone x
Ah Perni ditto here! I bought so much in the sales I thought I wouldn't have to buy any for the next ten years :rotfl:but I have already used most of it! I will be stocking up in the January sales.
Today I will:
- Check mine and OH's online banking
- Post some things I've sold on Ebay (£8.40 + postage which might be cheaper than I expected if I'm lucky, woo!)
- Buy half of MIL's Christmas present for under £10 sticking to budget
- Lunch and dinner at my mum's so no spends on food
- I will need to spend a little bit today on getting some photos from mine and OH's chilhood's copied to put in frames around the house
Honeybear- I hope you're managing with your CFS as best as possible.
Lika- Wow £50 well done!
Have a great day everyone!:heartsmil Stay-at-home-mummy of two, pinching the pennies but loving it! :heartsmil

Hi
This is the first time I have posted on one of these threads
I am going to resist the urge to order my last couple of things online and pay with my credit card, I will wait till Friday when there is cash in the bank.
The items are not essential so if they do not arrive before Christmas it won't be the end of the world.
In previous years I would go into panic mode around this time and order anything and everything on the credit card with every intention of paying it in full come January but then not actually paying it off.
I decided earlier this year that this would be a cash only Christmas so far it has been and I don't want to fall down now.
Sorry for rambling on

Phew, time to sit down and think at last! Grandma Day was cancelled
so I've had a morning of getting the last few food bits in for Christmas apart from the fresh stuff. Didn't come to much so really pleased.
So far:- ran WM overnight on Economy 7
- hung HC on airer to dry
- lovely hot porridge for breakfast
- fed and watered the chickens
- went to Mr S and used a "£4 off a £20 shop" voucher - just scraped in at £20.95
- got Christmas cake in the oven and stollen rising in the airing cupboard
- crack on with making Christmas presents this afternoon
- all meals and snacks from stores
- check credit card statement and set up a payment for after pay day

I'd better get into the sewing room before the whole day slips from my grasp.
