Hi ukdvdr.co.uk are doing Taiyo Yuden 100 8x dvd-r for £15.99, seems pretty good if you're not in a rush:p , I don't know what postage is like as I normally order and then pick up on the way home. HTH someone. You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0

i have never seen genuine Taiyos as cheap as 100 for £15.99 so i would be cautious about these. also i think Taiyo only manufactured in spindles of 100 so the SVP ones may be another brand with a Taiyo dye in them.
there is a big difference between
i)real Taiyos (the best media you can buy, costing about £30 - £35 per 100)
ii)other brands with Taiyo dye (still very good if they are from a reputable maker / outlet)
iii)fake Taiyos (a complete waste of money)0 -

yeah, these are normally pretty good (and svp has got a good reputation). think i'll stick with my branded ones for now - i lost 100 discs worth of stuff when a box of riteks gave up after a few months so i guess i'm just overly careful about what i use now.
more info is here if anyone is interested :

I'm not an expert but I did think it sounded cheap, I've only used dvdr.co.uk twice in the past, once for dvd cases and once for blank cd's as I can pick up from the shop so it saves waiting for couriers and charges etc. They were recommended by a couple of fellow MSE'ers on a previous thread.
Personally, I'm going to be using my Infiniti's for some time to come that were highlighted on here from choice stationery :TYou can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0 -
Svp are great - i would say from my experience they are the best site for blank media and are very unlikely to sell fakes.Watch the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves0

For anyone who wants these heres info from Lowtrawler from HotUKDeals Forum where I posted them as well (thanks a load) who has bought some and tested them.
"Disks just arrived. They are genuine TY for anyone that had any doubts. The batch code for the 8x Datawrites is GG000245 and they come in an original TY cakebox. The batch code for the 16x DVD-R printables is GH000149 and they have been repackaged into standard cakeboxes. There are no visible defects or bonding issues. I will burn some test disks tonight and report back on the burning quality."
"I have tested 3 of each type of disc. Both types are very good but fall just short of being excellent. I burnt the same video file using CloneDVD2 at maximum speed settings using an NEC 7170A writer with 1.02 firmware. The quality of the discs was then tested using a Liteon LH-18A1P writer and Nero CD-DVD Speed version 4.7.0.0 set at 8x speed.
The Datawrite 8x DVD-R discs retuned an overall Nero quality score of between 90 and 93 with the maximum PI Failures being 4 and the average around 0.15. There was a substantial increase in PI Errors from the 2.3Gb mark onwards but without a corresponding increase in Failures PI Errors averaged around 20.
The 16x DVD-R Printables returned an overall Nero quality score of between 90 and 93 with the maximum PI Failures being 4 and the average around 0.5. The PI Error rate was fairly consistent across the disc and averaged around 12.
An overall score above 90 is very good with 95 being considered excellent. The average number of PI Failures for the 16x discs is higher than you would expect from TY Grade A discs but still better than most competing brands. The Datawrite 8x discs provide fewer PI Failures but the number and pattern of PI Errors is beyond what you would expect for TY Grade A discs. In overall quality terms, there isn't much to choose between the 2 discs and both should provide excellent compatibility and longevity.
As a comparison, I burnt the same file onto a TY Grade A 16x Printable and tested it. I obtained an overall quality score of 95. Maximum PI failure was 2 and average .01. PI errors were an average of 3.
In short, these are TY standard (not Grade A) discs. They are very good and will provide better quality than most competing discs. At the price, there are no cheaper printable discs from SVP that I could guarantee would better the quality of these discs. At £4.99 for 25, the Verbatim 16x non-printable using TY dye would provide better quality."
