Contents insurance - Letsure or Direct Line

I have to renew my contents insurance for private rented property but the landlord also asks that the insurance has accidental damage cover.
Last time I was with Letsure but I am also looking at Direct Line for my renewal. Letsure have quoted a renewal of £180 and Direct Line £120 but I have not accurately compared the details of the T&C's.
Has anyone had any experience with Letsure or Direct Line - i.e. which is best ?
It is hard to compare insurance because you can get really cheap insurance which is rubbish if you come to make a claim, so you cant simply base the insurance on the quote.
You also need to take into account the T&C's and what the company is like if you ever need to make a claim.
Cheap is definitely not best when it comes down to insurance and they normally do what ever they can to avoid paying out.

These are the 4* and 5* rated companies. I personally only sell Select & Protects offering (which is a 4* policy) Direct line are 4* too. I couldnt see letsure so it could be another product with their own stamp on it maybe?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Remember even defaqto ratings are only part of the story. Just like hotel ratings it is possible to design products to ensure it just scrapes into a star rating and then give poor service where as you can get a great product that happens to miss one or two features (which may not be important to you) and has great service but has the lower star rating.
As people think they get more savvy at shopping so do insurers become more savvy at designing products & brands that suit the distribution channels they're playing on0 -

why is your landlord asking for AD cover? Do you need to insure his contents?0
