So proud of my son

My son is twelve and decided that he wanted to raise money for a small group that we belong to. The group supports disabled children and their siblings, giving them a social life - often a difficult task, especially when you are a single parent!
Tonight, my youngest son held a tombola at a school concert. He asked friends for donations and managed to get quite a variety of items. The money was split between our group and the charity that his 'house' at school supports. the charity takes disabled children to Lourdes.
He raised £56, so that's £28 each
I'm proud that he has raised some money, but I'm more proud that he has considered the fact that the groups need money to operate and to provide the services that they do. It isn't easy for him at times, having a brother with multiple disabilities, but this shows that even when they argue, he does care.

Good for him! It's nice to get a good news story.
One of our local radio presenters has a "hats off to humanity" spot to give stories like this a wider audience. There are a lot of good people out there but their actions aren't usually considered newsworthy.0 -
