new bank account

hi all, today i spoke to someone from the consumer credit counciling. they were very helpful and helped me go through everything. it seems i do have enough going in to my account each mth but because im not good at budgeting i have gone overdrawn a few times. hsbc have then charged me, this then gets me into a spiral off going overdrawn being charged and then going more overdrawn. the guy from ccc has suggested i change bank accounts, have all my disabilty benefit paid into new account and all my standing orders etc then just have my hsbc loan payment transferred as a standing order and a set amount to them each mth to clear the current overdraft. obviously i then must be excedingly careful about only living within my budget.
so is this a good idea, hsbc will not extend my overdraft and wont help any otherway, i dont know what to do. i dont have a huge debt but it is huge for me. what with my credit card and bank loan and other bills. if it is which banks are good banks is changing easy to do will it take a long time to change evrything.
hope someone caqn help thanks tracey

There are thousands of budget templates available online. Google one, put down all your expenditure and your income then you can work out what you'll have left. If you're still making a loss then speak to HSBC with all the information.

Don't forget, it's not as easy as just opening another account, you'll have to pass that lenders criteria as well.

Maybe put down on here what your current income/outgoings/debts are and then see what people recommend.

OH was telling me that co op bank have a cap each quarter of £150 that they will charge you for going over, not that this should be a reason to continue your habits, you need to learn to break them and learn to budget within your means. good luck
