Yes, I do for my best customers.

I have an excellent relationship with my biggest customer, and in the end I just asked them a while back what they would actually appreciate most...so now (today actually!!) they get a Tesco order :D Mince pies, fancy chocs etc etc, they share them out for a happy working atmosphere apparently (I don't think it lasts long-last year it lasted about 2 days!)

Bottle of Champers for the main contact, smaller gifts for key contacts. Just helps them remember you appreciate their custom at the year-end

i send all my hosting clients a christmas card and a magnetic promotional calendar. I think it helps with good customer relations
  • WE do nice cards - printed up with our details - for everyone.

Top spending customers also get a small gift, but we don't go mad. There's also the issue of what happens if they stop being a top spender - last year someone got offended by not getting a gift when they had previously, but he'd moved most of his business elsewhere!

  • We have allways given them a tine of sweets, so they can be shared around the office, shop or canteen..

I know it might sound mean, but its only a token gift, to say thank you...

In fact i have got to buy them today, or over the weekend, ready to be handed out on next week's run... I know the co-op has then 2 for £9, dont know if they are cheaper anywhere else

    Not this year, cards only.
On the other side of the coin, we haven't received any gifts this year either. We support a lot of local small businesses and not one gift, and only a couple of cards.
It does seem that everyone has cut back this year.

i get my cards and calendars printed by vistaprint, normally just after the new year when they have them on offer and just stick them in a box until xmas. i did give out desk calendars, but now opr for the magnetic ones are they are a cheaper option

I hate getting desk calendars, or in fact any company promo stuff. Most of it is naff; and why do I want to have other companies logos looking at me all year? I only ever use my computers calendar on my desktop. Most of them go straight in the bin TBH. One year we have 15 calendars!!
I know humbug but I'm not keen.
  • vistaprint free magnetic calenders (which my zumba teacher also gave out to our class!) are always on offer as are the business card magnets. We also have mugs (vistaprint freebies that I stockpile with each order) which we give to certain regulars having furnished all our rooms with them as well as plenty of spares, and also getting every staff member that ever worked here a personalised mug, along with vistaprint free bags and I didnt pay for our personalised xmas cards & various other free stuff! Customers think we have spent a fortune, and feel special, we hope they never discover vistaprint!
And before any nay sayers start on , yes I pay postage, on things I already use tons of so the freebies are ace - 300 premium glossy business cards 100 postcards (either my bill cards that we fold for bills or our advert ones) 25 brochures about weddings here or about us - whichever are lowest, 10 compliment slips, various banners, a mug, often a p take t shirt for a staff member, or magnets. All for less than £10 or £15 if I feel generous or want stuff quicker. Some feel they don't give the right or a "professional" image - but you design it yourself...
