Trethowans / Aintree NHS lose £1622 case

You know when I was young, places like hospitals dealt only with health and making people well etc. Medical stuff only. Nowadays they're into everything just like every other company.
The UK has become stupid.. everyone trying to manage someone elses business. Why don't they just stick to their original purpose?0 -
Had another yesterday when Judge set aside a judgement when Trethowns got a default judgement. Trethowns sent a solictor from Southampton asked for £300 odd costs including £140 mileage. Judge said get stuffed you can have £50.
No doubt Aintree will get billed for the other £300+.
Add all this to the £116.000 already spent in the last two years???
You know the worst thing about all this is there is no need for this, all Aintree's car parks are barrier operated so if you don't pay you don't get out.
The biggest problem is the two front car parks are filled very quickly, the multi storey is too far away if your disabled and they only have about a dozen disabled bays near the entrance.
So disabled people park on the DYL on the main roads, anyone with a blue badge would think that it is OK to park on a DYL as long as there are no other restrictions.
There are a few idiots who park in the ambulance bays and the main entrance area, however most of the time its the security staffs van who issue the tickets to people parked on DYL's.0 -
I think I will have another go at the local paper and the local radio station, they were not interested last time but now the cuts are getting worse they may run with it. I am sure a NHS trust could spend £60,000 odd a year better then this!0

Are you saying that the "set aside" was yet another loss for Trethowns? What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

According to whatdotheyknow.com, someone has submitted an FOI request to Aintree Hospitals NHS Trust, to find out how much they've paid Trethowans to pursue unpaid parking charges in the past two years.
The answer - almost £120,000! I don't believe this fits the Government's stated objective of best value for money in the public sector.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -

I wonder who that was?
I wonder if they asked the question & how much did they recover for the 120k!!
Brown paper envelopes spring to mindPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA0 -

They said how many they pursued which amounted to £8500 in total, but that was from when they changed from clamping to penalty's in 2006.
So Trewthons have been chasing these since 2006 god knows how much they have paid to them in total.
I dont know about brown envelopes;) but there should be some with P45's in!0
