Holiday deposit payments.

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help me to help my friend.They have booked a cruise for 4 people, 2couples, 2cabins for Aug and have paid £600.00 per couple deposit. They were so excited about the holiday, (1st one ever) that they booked it at the first travel agent they got to. The whole holiday for the 4 of them is just over six thousand pounds.I've only recently found this website (and truly love it) and told them last week they should have shopped around. So this they tried. The holiday is booked through Thompsons on board Destiny for 2 weeks. Yesterday my friend went into a different travel agents and queried the price of the exact holiday she has booked through Thompsons. They quoted her £400 more,yet when she explained she had been quoted £400 less by Thompsons(she didn't tell them she had actually booked)the agent said "That's because it's a Thompsons cruise, but then went on to "see what i can do" and managed to cut the price by £500 immediately.When my pal said she wanted to get some more quotes the agent said "Whatever quote you get, come back and i'll check with my area manager and we'll probably be able to do it cheaper".Does anyone know if it's possible to get the holiday cheaper through Thompsons after having paid £600 dep.The dep asked for was £99.00 but they paid what they could afford. Is this just a SICKENER OF A LESSON LEARNED or can anyone help at all. Sorry iv'e went on a bit, but tried to explain as acc as possible. MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP AT ALL. Starry.

Its a lesson learned Im afraid.
Oh, and that travel agent that "will undercut anybody" was happy to relieve them of £400 more initially, until they got found out.I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole after that.If they can slice a grand off their original price in 10 minutes, they were ripping them to start with
