X class ISA?

Hello

My Dad told me about an x class ISA he put money in. He said it did really well (stocks and shares one). I've done a google on them, but can find nothing. He told me the company, a well known one, but can not recall the name. Not a high street name but something investment-related. Does anyone know what these are?

thanks

"X Class" would refer to the type of unit of an OEIC rather than an investment strategy. M&G, for example, have X Class units on most of their fund range.

Probably best not looking solely for that!

yes, M&G that was it. Can I ask what OIEC is? I have only held cash ISAs before so somewhat naive!

An Open Ended Investment Company - in most respects the same as a unit trust. Not to be confused with an Investment Trust which is a closed end investment company.
  • It'll probably be one of these. What it's called will indicate where it's invested in... funds like Japan Smaller Companies or Property Portfolio do what they say on the tin (usually).

There's 3 parts to the investment title. The company, the actual investment title and the class.

Unfortunately you haven't told us the investment title.

Example, you've told us it's a Ford and Petrol, but you haven't told us whether it's a Fiesta or a Focus!

The post above has a list of "models" which it could be.

If you are thinking of investing in this yourself, it's worth remembering that performance in the past doesn't always translate as good performance in the future.
