College student & 16+ Oyster card

Can anyone give me a definitive answer as I have read two conflicting pieces of information regarding this.
My daughter had her 16+ oyster stolen from her whilst out yesterday evening, I notified TFL oyster helpline as soon as they opened this morning, and paid the £10 fee for a replacement, which I was informed takes 3-5 days.
However, I forgot to ask what happens in the meantime, and this is where I have read conflicting advice.
I have read that no refund is given for paper tickets bought whilst waiting, but I have also read that a refund is given for paper tickets issue whilst waiting. Hence my confusion.

As far as I know, they used to but now they don't. Which was handy when they sent both of my teen's renewal cards late...0

I don't think a refund is issued for paper tickets bought while waiting but you can apply for a refund of any pay as you go credit which was on the stolen card.

Correct me if I'm missing something here but do these two paragraphs contradict each other:
We're unable to transfer season tickets or pay as you go credit from your lost, stolen or damaged Oyster photocard to a replacement card
If you had a child-rate season ticket and/or pay as you go credit on your old Oyster photocard, you need to apply for a refund (there may be!an administration fee)0 -
Reads two ways to me... either 'we can't put it onto a new card but will send a cheque' or else they mean if you have replaced your card by choice rather than having it lost or stolen. Certainly when I spoke to TfL in september, I was told they wouldn't make any kind of refund for tickets or for money put onto a temporary card while waiting for the new one. On the plus side, in the past when my son has lost his, they've sent the new one out within a couple of days.0

Thanks wicked. Just annoying that I will have to give her full fares for this week to get to college until the new card arrives, extra expense at the wrong time of year!0

No refund is given for the ones you buy later on. The only refund is given for the money on the card, and if a Child oyster and no money was on it then... if the money is less than 10 quid, no refund is given because you pay a fee to get the refund.0

Yes this was all sorted a while back. The new oyster came in 3 days, and I lost the money that was on her stolen oyster.0
